Chen's Flying Kick Build is designed to keep your damage high when you cannot rely on Basic Attacks that much, either because you are countered by enemy Heroes or because team fights will be relatively short, and a lot of playmaking potential via Wandering Keg . After picking Enough to Share at Level 13, briefly using Fortifying Brew to get a Shield and stopping as soon as possible becomes a valid play to trigger the bonus damage of Deadly Strike at Level 4. Flying Kick will deal more damage thanks to Deadly Strike at Level 4. Tap Fortifying Brew right before using Flying Kick to deal even more damage thanks to Enough to Share at Level 13 instantly giving you a Shield.

Chen's Stagger Build focuses on increasing your survivability by making Stagger more efficient and boosting your damage output by empowering your Basic Attacks and Breath of Fire . Accumulating Flame at Level 1 progressively increases your damage output during the game and, more importantly, your waveclear . In order to get more stacks, remember to hit enemy Heroes whenever it is safe to do so. Combined together, Gift of the Ox at Level 7 and Celerity at Level 16 make Chen harder to kill. The latter can reduce Stagger 's cooldown, which makes you get more value from both Talents. Withering Flames at Level 4 allows you to trade better with enemy Heroes without getting in melee range. A Touch of Honey at Level 13 helps you engage or stick on enemy Heroes.

Chen's Basic Attacks Build focus on increasing your damage as much as possible, mostly by empowering Basic Attacks. Paired with Chen's good survivability, the additional damage allows you to take down valuable enemy Heroes with little to no help from your team. Accumulating Flame at Level 1 progressively increases your damage output during the game and, more importantly, your waveclear . Combo Strikes at Level 16 is the signature Talent of this Build, heavily increasing your damage output especially when paired with Eye of the Tiger at Level 4 for even more damage from Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes. Eye of the Tiger at Level 4 allows you to trade better with enemy Heroes while in melee range. A Touch of Honey at Level 13 helps you engage or stick on enemy Heroes.
